Jamie Adkins presents Circus Incognitus on tour in Canada

“Genius” said the New York Times, and our audiences agreed.  Jamie Adkins brought the house down at MTYP with his astonishing dexterity and side-splitting stunts in Typo.  As brilliant as his last, Jamie’s new show won’t just dazzle you, it will melt your heart.  Circus Incognitus is about having the courage to try new ideas, pushing them to their limits and not giving up when all goes wrong.  This gifted acrobat and clown has been invited to perform with Cirque de Soleil.

“This aaah-inspiring show will delight and amuse you, no matter what your age.”

AlegriaAlegría is a mood, a state of mind. The themes of the show, whose name means “jubilation” in Spanish, are many. Power and the handing down of power over time, the evolution from ancient monarchies to modern democracies, old age, youth—it is against this backdrop that the characters of Alegría play out their lives. Kings’ fools, minstrels, beggars, old aristocrats and children make up its universe, along with the clowns, who alone are able to resist the passing of time and the social transformations that accompany it.

A zany medley of circus acts, comedy, and electrifying music!

It’s a high voltage circus troupe …

It’s a dynamite rock band…

It’s four guys…

Armed with a bicycle, a ladder, a barrel, a board, and some balls, four eccentric characters meet on stage and try to outdo one another in a contest of increasingly outrageous antics.

An hour with “Les Parfaits Inconnus” is an hour of sheer delight, with comedy, acrobatics, “unbalancing” acts, juggling, and music that will rock your soul.

Laughter and thrills guaranteed!

Tired of being on your feet?

Some consider a handstand to be challenging enough, others take handstands to an entirely different level. Yoga practitioner Dharma Mittra has mastered the unsupported headstand, while Norwegian, Eskil Ronningsbakken stands on his hands in places where most people wouldn’t dare stand on their feet. Eskil has performed many of his artistic stunts in various places around the world, including Kenya, Nairobi, and Norway. What do his parents think? When asked this, Eskil replies, “My mother would be screaming at me to come down all the time, but my dad would be saying “Wait a minute, let me take a picture first!”.

Circus Training For Fitness – The Handstand

Circus Training For Fitness – The Handstand
By Matt Roben

Have you ever seen a fat circus performer? And no the Fat Lady doesn’t count! With all of the circus out there these days we have all been to one or at least seen Cirque du Soleil or Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus. And what is the first thing that you notice when you are at the circus? Just how incredibly strong and amazing the performers are in regards to balance and coordination. Circus performers train their body through constantly working to improve their strength, flexibility, stamina, balance, hand-eye coordination, you name it- if it takes bodily skill, they are doing it. And most of the circus performers I know do not lift a single weight, unless they are trying to build a certain body look for their particular performance style.

So how do most of these people get in the shape they are in? It goes without saying that they spend hours a day working on their particular specialization. But if you break it down, they are mainly doing repetitive…

Tango In Air

I found this amazing tango silk act and couldnt take my eyes of it, so beautiful and passionate, this act is from the show AIResTANGO in 2005 by Cathy Gauch, Aircat Aerial Art. Music: Milonga del Angel by Astor Piazolla.
